DOTTODOT is a name derived from the act of connecting dots, where each “dot” represents an individual within the city. Just as scattered dots come together to form a single image, the brand envisions public furniture that brings different individuals together to naturally create a shared scene.
Conventional linear benches, with their rigid and uniform structures, can create psychological discomfort when people are forced to sit next to strangers. DOTTODOT proposes a way of coexisting within the urban community while maintaining one’s own personal territory. Through its soft, curved forms, users can freely adjust their seating direction and line of sight. This allows for a loose connection with others while securing a sense of personal comfort and rest.
The modular system—composed of benches, side tables, lighting, planters, partitions, and canopies—materializes the concept of being “separate, yet together.” Each module can be combined in various configurations—linear, circular, or standalone—adapting flexibly to the character of different public spaces. Side tables and lighting help define personal zones, providing psychological comfort, while planters and partitions gently mediate visual and physical distance. The canopy further enhances spatial quality by filtering light and shadow, subtly defining individual areas while adding a sense of protection and atmosphere.

We aim to create a design where the quietness of solitude coexists with the reassurance of connection. Through this approach, overlooked public spaces in the city are transformed into comfortable scenes that gently intersect with everyday life.
DOTTODOT은 점과 점을 잇는 행위에서 비롯된 네이밍으로, 여기서 ‘점’은 도시 속 개개인을 의미한다. 흩어진 점들이 모여 하나의 형상을 완성하듯, 서로 다른 개인이 모여 자연스럽게 하나의 장면을 이루는 공공 가구 브랜드를 지향한다.
기존의 직선형 벤치는 획일적인 구조로 인해 낯선 사람 곁에 앉아야 하는 상황에서 심리적 부담을 유발할 수 있다. DOTTODOT은 나만의 고유한 영역을 유지하면서도, 도시라는 공동체 안에서 자연스럽게 공존하는 방식을 제안한다. 유연한 곡선 형태를 통해 사용자는 앉는 방향과 시선을 자유롭게 조절할 수 있다. 이를 통해 타인과 느슨하게 연결되는 동시에, 자신만의 온전한 휴식을 확보할 수 있다.
벤치, 사이드 테이블, 조명, 플랜터, 파티션, 캐노피로 구성된 모듈은 이러한 ‘따로 또 같이’의 가치를 구체화한다. 독립형, 선형, 원형 등 다양한 방식으로 결합되는 각 모듈은 공공공간의 성격에 맞춰 유연하게 변형된다. 특히 사이드 테이블과 조명은 개인의 영역을 형성해 심리적 안정감을 제공하고, 플랜터와 파티션은 시선과 물리적 거리를 부드럽게 완충한다. 캐노피는 빛과 그림자를 통해 개별 자리를 시각적으로 구분함으로써 공간에 아늑한 보호감과 감성적인 분위기를 더한다.
